Backdoor appointments in PHE rock J&K Assembly

Srinagar, Aug 24 (UNI) Alleging that the recommendation of the house committees were not being implemented by the government, the leader of the Communist Party of India (M) Mohammad Yousuf Targami today said backdoor appointments in the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department were still going on.

Speaking during zero hour in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr Targami said undeserving people were still being recruited in the PHE through the backdoor after ignoring the deserving candidates.

Hundreds of cases under SRO-43 are pending in the state for years together, he said adding they need first preference in such appointments.

There was still no end to such illegal appointments in the department, he alleged and demanded cancellation of all backdoor appointments.

He said during the last session at Jammu, a house committee headed by Congress MLA Khamlata Wakhloo was constituted to probe into such backdoor appointments in the PHE department.

Mr Targami warned the government to stop all such illegal appointments before people are forced to agitate.

He alleged that recommendations of the house committee on any issue are not being implemented by the government.

''What is the use of appointing such a committee when government has made up its mind to ignore all such recommendations'',? he asked.
