After flood, UP posed with health hazards

Bahraich, Aug 24 (UNI) Even as flood has receded in Bahraich and Shravasti districts of Uttar Pradesh, water-borne diseases are fast spreading in the region.

With the increase in number of cases, mobile team of doctors had been formed to provide immediate medical assistance to the patients, Bahraich District Magistrate Sudhir Kumar Srivastava told UNI.

The loss that flood had caused to the standing crops will be estimated in amount by the 'Tehsildars' and relief funds would be provided accordingly, Mr Srivastava said.

Similarly, Shravasti flood had caused tremendous loss of life and property and now people are posed with health hazards.

People are being provided with medical help at the health camps installed at several areas of the district.

Meanwhile, the loss suffered by the farmers would be calculated within three days and funds would be released accordingly, SDM Kalimulla said.
