ABVP sweeps SCA elections in Una

Una, Aug 24 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) sweeped the polls at the Student Central Association (SCA) elections that were held today at the Government Post Graduate College Una in Himachal Pradesh.

The elections were earlier cancelled due to a clash between rival student factions on the day of nominations.

Pallavi Sharma of the ABVP defeated Shiv Dhiman of NSUI by 335 votes for the post of SCA President, Jaswant of ABVP defeated Ashish Sharma by 15 votes for the post of Vice-President, Aman Jaswal of ABVP defeated Arun Singh of SFI by 165 votes for the post of General Secretary while Vijay Rana of ABVP defeated Gautam Datta od SFI by 157 votes for the post of Joint Secretary.

Of the total 15 posts of Class representatives, SFI and ABVP won six each, NSUI emerged victorious on two, while one went in favour of independent candidate.

In the Post Graduate section, Muninder Kumar of SFI was elected as Departmental Representative (DR) from the English department, Vinay Kumar of SFI won as DR in the Political Science department and Deepti Jain of NSUI won as DR in the M.Com. department.
