537 employees found absent in J&K penalised
Srinagar, Aug 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated action against its 537 officers who were found absent from duty on August 3 during a surprise check.
An official spokesman said that surprise checks were conducted on the directions of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
During the checks on State Women Commission, Director labour Procurement, Estate Section of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and office of Chief Architect were found locked.
He said an explanatio in has also been sought from heads of the departments of these offices through their administrative department.
The spokesman said as per an order issued by the General Administration Department,one days casual leave has been deducted from the leave account of the errant officials.
