Two killed in van-truck collision

Panipat, Aug 23 (UNI) Two persons died on the spot and one was injured seriously when their van collided head-on with a truck near Mahrana on Panipat-Rohtak highway late last night.

The police have seized both the vehicles and registered a case against the truck driver who reportedly absconded after the accident The bodies of the deceased identified as Inderjit Singh and Sulekh Kumar of local Model Town were handed over to their family members today after postmortem.

The injured, Raju, had been admitted in a private hospital here.

The victims who run a canteen in an engineering college at Israna, were returning to Panipat late night when the van met with the accident.
