Train services on SER disrupted following breach

Howrah, Aug 23 (UNI) Train services on Southeastern Railway(SER) were disrupted due to breach caused by incessant rainfall in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa.

There has been a breach of about 400 to 500 metres in Rourkela- Jharsuguda section(Tangarmuda-Garposh stations) of Chakradharpur division, SE Railway, said a release.

The SE Railway has diverted, short-terminated or cancelled a few trains scheduled to take the Rourkela-Jharsuguda route.

The 2834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express leaving Howrah today has been cancelled. Besides, 2871 Howrah-Sambalpur Ispat Express leaving Howrah today will be short-terminated at Rourkela and run as 2872 from Rourkela today. As a result it the 2871/2872 will remain cancelled between Sambalpur-Rourkela-Sambalpur today.

The 8452 Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express leaving Puri will be short-terminated at Jharsuguda and run as 8451 from Jharsuguda tomorrow. The 8005 Howrah-Koraput Express will be short-terminated at Rourkela and run as 8006 from Rourkela tomorrow.

The 3351 Dhanbad-Alappuzha Express will be diverted via Muri-Chandil-Tata-Kharagpur-Bhadrak-Vizianagaram today. The 8478 Howrah-Puri Kalinga-Utkal Express leaving Bilaspur today will be diverted via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Angul-Puri.

The 3352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express scheduled to arrive Jharsuguda tomorrow will be diverted from Sambalpur via Angul-Bhadrak- Kharagpur-Tata-Chandil-Muri-Bokaro Steel City.

Meanwhile, 2810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail leaving Howrah today will be rescheduled at 2155 hours instead of 2015 hours.

The 2130 Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express leaving Howrah today will be rescheduled at 2210 hours instead of 2155 hours, the release added.
