Power generation stopped in SJVN project
Shimla, Aug 23 (UNI) India's biggest Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) 1500 MW power project has again stopped generating power due to silt deposits in the river following rain and landslides.
SJVN DGM V K Verma said the silt level in Satluj had increased to a level upto 8,600 particle per million (PPM) from yesterday. The project would start generating power when silt level would reduce below 4,000 PPM, he said.
Mr Verma said all the six units of 250 MW each had stopped generating power, which was mainly supplied to eight states of northern region_ Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Union Territory.
