Oomen Chandy calls on TN CM
Chennai, Aug 23 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oomen Chandy called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi here today.
Held at the State Secretariat, the meeting lasted for about 30 minutes.
Describing it as a 'courtesy call', official sources said Mr Chandy, accompanied by representatives of Malayalee Club, thanked Mr Karunanidhi for declaring a local holiday on Onam Festival, falling on August 27.
Mr Chandy, who was the Former Chief Minister of Kerala, was also believed to have discussed with Mr Karunanidhi the controversy surrounding the Salem Railway Division and the contentious Mullaiperiyar Dam issue.
