Nutrition programme for adolescent girls to continue: Govt

New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) The Centre today announced the continuation of the Nutrition Programme for Adolescent Girls in 2007-08 in 51 districts with 100 per cent special assistance worth Rs 124.09 crore.

The cut-off weights to avail of the programme are 30 kg for 11-15 years and 35 kg for 15-19 years.

The approval was given at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Finance Minister P Chidamabram told reporters.

The nutritional status of the adolescent girls in the selected districts would improve following the implementation of the programme, the Minister said.
