Nuclear deal issue would be resolved with Left: Jaiswal
Mathura, Aug 23 (UNI) Union minister of state for home Sriprakash Jaiswal today said NDA and some other political parties were opposing the Indo-US deal for vested interests.
''In fact, the deal is vital for the country's rising energy needs,'' he told reporters here.
Mr Jaiswal noted that the allies of the Congress-led UPA government were within their right to air protest, but hoped the issue would soon be resolved.
Asked about the possible return of former union minister Shibu Soren in the cabinet, the Minister preferred to maintain silence, saying it was Prime Minister's prerogative.
Mr Soren was acquitted by the Delhi High Court yesterday in a murder case.
Mr Jaiswal further claimed that there was a remarkable improvement in the last three years in the law and order situation in the North-East.
''Besides, adequate measures were being taken to fight insurgency in Assam.'' Commenting on the law and order situation in UP, the Minister said a change could only be seen in six months.
