New-born found in dump in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Aug 23: In a shocking incident, a new-born baby girl was found in a garbage dump, near the railway line near Mugalsarai station, in Chandauli district today.

Police said the child was rushed to a nearby hospital by the sweepers, who found the girl this morning at the place where animal carcasses were disposed of.

However, the doctors declared the girl brought dead.

The sweepers said the dogs had already mauled the girl when they tried to save her.

Sources said an investigation was underway to find the parents of the child, while a case has been registered at Kotwali under female infanticide.
