Musharraf is threatening us: Nawaz Sharif

Lahore, Aug 23: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that President Pervez Musharraf is "blackmailing and threatening" the Sharif brothers by presenting "fake and fraudulent documents" in the Supreme Court to stall their return to Pakistan.

Sharif said that Musharraf's lawyers were requesting the court to give them time to present the original documents, which proved that no deal was done with Musharraf, or his government.

"The entire government drama is meant to blackmail us and the entire nation. But yes, I acknowledge that there was an understanding with the Saudi Arabian Government at that time, but I can't reveal that because it is a very sensitive issue," he told Geo News.

"I have not signed any agreement with Musharraf, his government or any government department," Sharif claimed.

Sharif accused Musharraf of distributing photocopies of the agreement, and asked the General to show the original documents in the court if the agreement was signed with him.

He said it was strange that Musharraf claimed that the agreement was signed with him, but he didn't have the original deal documents.

"Principally Musharraf must posses the original documents if he claims the deal was signed with the Government of Pakistan," he added.

Sharif said that he didn't know where the Musharraf regime got the documents that it presented in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
