Jabalpur, Aug 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed the transfer of two town inspectors who were shifted out of Damoh and Chhindwara districts respectively where they served for less than two years.

Justice R S Jha today stayed the transfer of TI D N Raj from Damoh while TI Mukesh Khampriya's transfer was stayed day-before-yesterday and a notice issued to Police Headquarters.

''Mr Raj was transferred to Balaghat on July 6 while Mr Khampriya was shifted to Katni on July 12. This was in violation of a Supreme Court judgement that said police personnel could not be transferred within two years barring exceptional circumstances,'' petitioners' counsel Ajay Raizada submitted.
