Issue of passports in record time

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 23 (UNI) The Tiruchirapalli Regional passport office has achieved a record of issuing a passport within 30 days from the date of application.

Mr S Balachandran Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchirapalli revealed this to newspersons at a function where a few applicants were given their passport.

He said to achieve this record, he had taken several initiatives with the co-operation of the stafff.

He said the applications were filed on July 24 and were complete in all respects.

He said last year, the office issued 3 lakhs passports while 1.75 lakh passports were issued so far during the current year.

Mr I Raja, Inspector General of Police, Central Range distributed the passports and hailed the efforts of the Regional passport officer and his staff.
