Hi-tech cricket betting racket busted

New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) The Delhi police today busted a hi-tech cricket satta being run from a flat in East Delhi with the arrest of two persons, including a well known bookie of Faridabad.

Nishikant Sharma, a well known bookie of Faridabad, was arrested along with his associate Hemant Arora from a house in Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi while they were accepting bets on the Zimbabwe Vs South Africa cricket match.

Interrogation revealed that Nishikant Sharma is one of the kingpins in the satta racket in Faridabad, was giving line of cricket satta to over a dozen bookies of Faridabad.

An FIR has been registered against the two under the Gambling Act, 1955, the police said.
