Gram Pradhan shot dead

Azamgarh, Aug 23 (UNI) Unidentified assailants shot dead a gram pradhan in Jahanaganj area in a broad daylight here today.

Yadu Ram -- Radwa gram pradhan -- was shot at indiscriminately by masked miscreants, while he was on his way to Jahanaganj Bazar.

The wounded succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, police said.

The reason behind the killing, however, remained a puzzle.

Investigations were underway.
