FIRs against two shops for irregularity in Kanak-dal scheme
Chandigarh, Aug 23 (UNI) The Punjab Government today ordered registration of First Information Report (FIR) against two Ration Depots in SAS Nagar and Jalandhar Districts for irregularities, including diversion of subsidised Kanak-Dal.
According to official spokesman, field officers of the Food and Civil Supplies Department conducted checking of 1483 depots during first seven days of the scheme and ordered suspension of supplies to 42 other depots in the State for various irregularities detected during this campaign.
Ten other depots were had been issued show cause notice by the department. The supply has been suspended to one depot in Amritsar, two in Tarn Taran, five in Gurdaspur, one in Jalandhar, four in Hoshiarpur, one in Nawanshehar, three in Sangrur, one in Ludhiana, one in Ropar and two in Mohali.
The spokesman said that the State government was committed to ensure supply of proper quality and quantity of Kanak-Dal to the to the Blue Card beneficiaries and any dereliction detected in implementation of this welfare scheme would be severely dealt with, an official release said.
