Dreaded LET militant surrenders
Jammu, Aug 23 (UNI) A dreaded militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, who has been involved in number of militancy related crimes, laid down his arms before Doda police of Jammu and Kashmir this evening, official sources said here.
Abu Hafiz alias Bashir Ahmed Mallah son of Ghulam Hassan Mallah and resident of Koti under Doda police station surrendered before the Doda police, police said.
Hafiz was one of the most dreaded militants of the LET active in upper reaches of Doda district particularly in Bharat, Kulhandi, Koti and Desa areas, the police added.
Hafiz joined militancy in 2003 and got associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba. He was arrested earlier also but released by the court and again joined militancy, they said.
He handed over one AK 47 rifle, some magazines to doda police, police added.
