DGAR Lt. Gen.Paramjit Singh visits Nagaland

Kohima, Aug 23: The Director General of Assam Rifles(DGAR) Lt. Gen. Paramjit Singh today completed his three-day visit to Nagaland today.

According to defence sources here today, the DGAR arrived at Dimapur on August 21 last along with his wife Mona Prakash Singh, where he visited the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School and reviewed the existing training system for the new recruits.

On his way to Kohima, he visited the 42dnd Assam Rifles battalion at Medziphema.

In Kohima, the DGAR was received by Maj Gen K S Sethi, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR) and he reviewed the prevailing security situation with senior officials of the Assam Rifles.

He also interacted with the local commanders and lauded their efforts towards creating a conducive atmosphere and keeping insurgency under check.

On Wednesday, the General visited the Kohima War Cemetery, where he laid the wreath in remembrance of the heroes of the World War II and later left for Wokha. He also visited Mokokchung yesterday.

After a stopover at Mokokchung, the DGAR today left for Jorhat in Assam, on his way to Shillong in Meghalaya.
