K'taka CM's statement misquoted: Yediyurappa

Mysore, Aug 23: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today said that media reports about Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy saying that the tie-up with BJP had affected the secular credentials of the JD(S) was misquoted by the media. Speaking to newspersons here he said the Chief Minister himself had clarified on the issue and the controversy was kicked up due to wrong media reports.

He said all the doubts and uncertanities about the transfer of Chief Minister's post to the BJP on October three, as per the pre-government formation agreement, would be cleared by Mr Kumaraswamy himself on that day.

Referring to the BJP preferring to maintain silence on the power transfer issue, he said the coalition government had been formed to work for the development of the state and it (BJP) did not want to de-stabilise it.
