Clashing students lathicharged

Indore, Aug 23 (UNI) Police used mild force to disperse two groups of students who clashed during the students union election at the local government arts and commerce college here today.

At least four students were injured in the clash between rival groups of students owing allegiance to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and National Students Union of India, police said.

The students clashed at the Bhanwarkuan campus while indulging in slogan shouting against each other, police said. Police rained few lathi blows to disperse the rival groups.

Barring this incident, the students union election was held peacefully amidst tight security, police added.
