CII meet on wind power prospects in MP

Indore, Aug 23 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the Union Ministry of Renewable Energy and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd, is organising an investors' meet on 'Wind Power Prospects in Madhya Pradesh -- Investment-cum-Tax Saving Opportunities' here tomorrow.

''The main objective is to generate and promote investment in wind energy in this state and derive tax benefit,'' a CII release said.

The gathering would provide a platform to build business relations between prospective investors from various industrial sectors, service providers, government agencies, financial institutions and project consultants and to discuss, deliberate and explore future partnerships.

It would also provide an opportunity for an insight of the Centre and state government's intiatives in terms of incentives, tax benefits and procedural simplification -- enforced recently -- for encouraging investment in wind power.

Ministry Director Padam Singh, state Additional Secretary (Energy) R B Agarwal, Nigam Chairman Dilip Singh Shekhavat and Superintending Engineer Bhuvnesh Kumar Patel would be among those present. Major players such as Suzlon Energy, Pioneer Wincon, Enercon India and the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency would be among those making presentations during various sessions, the release added.
