Bhopal AIIMS to be completed by 2010

Bhopal, Aug 23 (UNI) Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has assured Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi that construction of a proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences hospital and college building would begin here next year and be completed by 2010.

During their recent meeting at New Delhi, Dr Ramdoss said that construction of housing premises for officers and other employees had already begun. He also assured all cooperation towards establishing another government medical college, an official release said here.

Dr Ramdoss directed the Joint Secretary (Health) to enhance financial assistance to Madhya Pradesh under the National Rural Health Mission. Funds have been made available in the 11th Five-Year Plan for setting up a linear accelerator for treatment of cancer patients at hospitals affiliated to medical colleges, the release added.
