Arrest warrant against Sharad Yadav

Hajipur, Aug 23 (UNI) An arrest warrant was issued today against JD(U) president Sharad Yadav to ensure his appearance before the first class judicial magistrate of Hajipur by November 5, 2007 in connection with alleged violation of model code of conduct during campaigning in Raghopur constituency in Bihar assembly elections, 2005.

The warrant was issued on the basis of allegations made in an FIR, lodged with Raghopur police station on October 24, 2005 in which Mr Yadav was accused for campaigning in favour of his party candidate Satish Kumar, after the lapse of stipulated time. Mr Kumar was also accused in the case.

The chargesheet was submitted against the accused in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on December 19, 2005 and later the case was transferred to first class judicial magistrate. The court of first class Judicial magistrate had directed to issue warrant against both the accused on July 31, 2007 to ensure their appearance before it by November 5, 2007 in connection with the case.
