51st batch of 142 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu, Aug 23 (UNI) The 51st batch of 142 pilgrims today left for Pahalgam and Baltal base camps of Shri Amarnath cave shrine of Lord Shiva in south Kashmir, official sources said.

The pilgrims, including 74 men, three women, 11 children and 54 sadhus departed from M A Stadium here at 0505 hrs in a fleet of three buses and one light motor vehicle (lmv).

A total of 57,055 pilgrims have left for the holy shrine from the Jammu base camp since july 2, amidst tight security arrangements, sources added.
