2 shot dead in Manipur, 1 PLA cadre nabbed

Imphal, Aug 23: At least two persons were shot dead by unknown miscreants at Ithai Wapokpi in Bishenpur district yesterday.

Police said the duo were identified as Oinam Binodkumar and Oinam Subash.

Investigation was on about the incident, police added.

Meanwhile, Imphal West Superintendent of Police (SP) Clay Khongsai said a People's Liberation Army (PLA) cadre, identified as Phanjoubam Nabachandra, was apprehended yesterday.

A mobile phone handset, a digital camera, four sheets of incriminating documents and a bike were recovered from his possession, the SP added.
