Youth obsessed with high life arrested

Bangalore, Aug 22 (UNI) Police have arrested a five member gang including a 19-year-old 'king pin' sukesh, which duped an aged couple to the tune of Rs 1.14 crore promising them get their valuable plot of land reallocated from Bangalore Development Authority.

The main accused C Sukesh alias Drift King approached the couple saying that he would get them the BDA plot, worth crores of rupees that was withdrawn by the authority, reallocated with the help of his friend Mohammed Fiaz (21) whom he posed as the son of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Briefing newspersons here today Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-east) Soumendu Mukherjee said the duo took another person, Saleem (28), and introduced him to the couple as a builder who had connections with ministers and other VIPs. They managed to take Rs 1.14 crore from the couple in instalments.

They fabricated documents, put fake seals and affixed forged signatures and gave them to the couple claiming that they had got the site reallocated to them. But when the couple found that the certificates were fake they complained with the police.

Sukesh, who was obsessed with high life style, used the money to buy seven imported cars, cell phones, watches, cash and expensive jewellery worth Rs 70 lakhs that had been seized by the police. One of the cell phones seized by the police itself cost Rs 2.8 lakh, the DCP said.

Basing on the complaint police nabbed the trio along with the parents of Sukesh for allegedly supporting their son in committing the crime.
