Wipro to set up development centre in Egypt

Bangalore, Aug 22: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt today announced that Wipro will be setting up a global development center in Smart Village in that country.

Dr Tarek Kamal, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt witnessed today the signing of an MOU between Wipro and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) supporting Wipro to establish a Global IT services Development Centre targeting the IT Export Services for the Middle East and Global Markets.

Wipro was a leading Consulting and Information Technology Company from India employing more than 70000 professionals. Wipro would be providing software development, integration and consulting services from this centre.

On the occasion Dr Kamal said ''We are delighted that Wipro is setting up a global development centre in Egypt. This will give a further impetus to Egypt as an IT Export destination''.

Mr Rajat Mathur, Chief Executive of Business Solutions and Head of Middle East and Asia Pacific regions said 'Wipro has always been focused on Middle East as a region and localization in this region is one of the key strategies for growth this year. This development center besides strengthening Wipro's dominance in the region would also give a thrust to Wipro's Global Delivery Model.
