Transformer explosion kills 4 in UP

Mau, Aug 22 (UNI) At least four children died of burn injuries, while another 10 sustained severe burns after a transformer exploded in Kotwali area of the district today.

The 250 KV transformer was installed only yesterday in Shahi Katra area, police said.

A seriously injured Ramchandar was referred to the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) hospital at Varanasi along with the nine wounded children.

While two children died on way to hospital, another two succumbed to injuries during treatment.

According to the hospital sources, the condition of others was also serious.
