Sugar prices decline
Navi Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Sugar prices today drifted lower on sustained heavy offers by stockists on expectation of one lakh tonnes additional free sale sugar quota for September and also large stock arrivals from co-operative mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.
Sugar in small and medium grades declined by Rs ten each due to lack of fresh bulk consumers and retailers demand in the face of huge stock inflow from mills.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grade also eased by Rs 15 and Rs 30 respectively due to thin millers demand from local and upcountry centres, trders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,310/1,360, Medium grade Rs 1,355/1,460.
Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,290/1,315, Medium grade: Rs 1,335/1,440 UNI AR OBB VKG1710
