Scholarship Scheme for ST students

Shimla, Aug 22 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh government dedicated a new Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for Schedule Tribes (ST) students that would be operational from current academic year 2007-08, a state government spokesman said here today.

He said the scheme aimed at supporting meritorious ST students who gain admission in identified quality educational institutions by providing full financial support.

The scheme would be implimented by the Central ministry of tribal affairs through the Tribal Development Department of the state, he said.

The spokesman said National Institution of Technology, Hamirpur has been included in the list of 127 institutions identified nationwide by the Centre in this connection.
