Rupee opened at 41.05/06 per US dollar

Mumbai, Aug 22: Riding on the tides of stock market, Rupee today further moved upward by about four paise against the US dollar and opened at 41.05/06 per dollar as compared to the previous close of 41.09/10 per dollar.

The market remained influenced by the stock market movements. It touched the low of 41.06/07 per dollar and a high of 40.97/98 during the morning trade, dealers said.

''The market seems to be taking cue from stock market for the next course of action, since lot of things are happening there due to fluid political situation at the centre,'' said a senior forex dealer at the leading private commercial bank.
