Prime Minister visits Vajpayee at AIIMS

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today visited his predecessor Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) last night, at the hospital.

Dr Singh inquired about the health of Mr Vajpayee, who had complained of giddiness, and wished him a speedy recovery, hospital officials said.

Mr Vajpayee is stable and doctors attending on him will review his condition tomorrow morning before deciding on the date of discharge, the officials said.

Hospital spokesman Shakti Gupta said the former Prime Minister was under observation and investigations were being conducted.

''He had his breakfast and his vital signs are normal'', he said.

A host of other dignitaries including Leader of Opposition L K Advani, Health Minister Ambumani Ramadoss and BJP president Rajnath Singh have visited the former prime minister in the hospital.
