One killed in anti-govt student unrest in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Aug 22 (UNI) One person was killed and more than 300 wounded as anti-government student unrest intensified in Bangladesh today as violent clashes between students and police were reported from Dhaka and other major cities.
A three-wheeler rickshawpuller in northern Rajshahi was killed during firece battles between Rajshahi University students and riot police.
The police also used rubber bullets in the trouble-torn Rajshahi University.
Thousands of college and university students joined a general strike demanding withdrawal of the state of emergency imposed by the army-backed caretaker government on January 11.
