"Kapil Dev was given enough time by BCCI: GRV

Bangalore, Aug 22 (UNI) Legendary cricketer G R Vishwanath today justified the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision to sack Kapil Dev as Chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), following his joining the Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Talkling to newsmen here, he said that "BCCI had given enough time for Kapil, who had been now selected to lead the ICL, and the Board's decision was not wrong. Moreover, the Board has taken action on each and every player, past or present, whoever joined ICL".

He said that since ICL has already announced its intention to conduct Twenty20 tournament in October, "we have to wait and see where it would be played and which is the ground. And more than all how many spectators would be there to watch the match." Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary Brijesh Patel also supported BCCI's decision in removing Kaptil Dev from NCA Chairmanship for joining ICL.
