Jaya flayed for remarks on PM

Chennai, Aug 22 (UNI) TNCC President M Krishnasamy today flayed AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a ''distasteful'' manner on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Reacting to Ms Jayalalithaa's remarks that the Prime Minister should settle in the US for signing the deal, the Congress leader, in a statement here, said the AIADMK leader was free to express her views on the deal, but had no locus standi to launch a personal attack against Dr Singh.

Known for his political decency and administrative capabilities, the Prime Minister had earned international fame and the AIADMK Chief, by criticising him had only ''lowered her status'', Mr Krishnasamy said.
