11 bonded child labourers rescued, 2 arrested

Agra, Aug 22 (UNI) Government Railway Police (GRP) today claimed to have rescued 11 bonded child labourers and arrested two contractors here.

Police said the GRP yesterday enquired about the children at the Rajamandi railway station on suspicion.

The accompanying contractors, however, misinformed the police, saying they were in the city to visit Taj Mahal.

Later, the children disclosed they were working as bonded labourers for the last one month in a biscuit factory and were being taken by the contractors to another place.

The children belong to the age group of 8-13 yrs and hail from Bihar and eastern UP.

Investigations were underway.
