Manipur: Sadar Hills demand revenue dist status

Imphal, Aug 21: The Sadar Hills District Demand Committee(SHDDC) has intensified its stir demanding full revenue district status for Sadar hills, now under Senapati district.

All the government offices were sealed by members of the Committee and a 48-hour bandh had been called in Sadar Hills area from midnight of August 26 by the Committee.

The agitation of sealing government offices in Sadar Hills would continue till August 25 and educational institutions would be closed down from August 23, SHDDC general secretary Thangkam Misao said.

Thangkham said the people were demanding full-fledged district status for more than two decades.
