Ahmedabad, Aug 21 (UNI) The Gujarat government has introduced three DVDs on its achievements on the lines of 'India Shinning' campaign by the NDA and directed the cable operators to telecast these DVDs during prime time.

However, the Congress has decided to meet Governor Naval Kishor Sharma on the issue, seeking his intervention for misusing the government machinery.

The DVDs have been sent to cable operaters with strict orders to air some parts of the DVD every day, the cable operators said.

The DVDs also carry messages from big business houses like the Ambanis and Tatas.

Terming the telecast of these DVDs as beginning of Modi's election campaign, a cable operator said the state information department has given them CDs on 'Vande Gujarat', to be aired at prime time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Accusing Mr Modi of misusing the government machinery, Congress leaders claimed that the DVD propaganda reflects Mr Modi's insecurity about facing the voters in the forthcoming state Assembly elections.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Legislative Assembly Arjun Modhwadia has alleged that the Modi government is misusing the powers.

Mr Modhwadia said the Congress will meet the state Governor to draw his attention to how Mr Modi was misusing his chair and government machinery.

He further alleged that the government sent the DVDs and VCDs to cable operators through the local police officials with clear instruction to air them during prime time. Those who do not follow the instructions, were being harassed by the police and their connections were being cut-off by the party workers.

The Congress will also hold some public demonstrations to oppose the BJP move, he added.
