'Golden Temple' set for consecration on Aug 24 in TN

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) Nestled in lush greenery of Thirumalaikodi, a tiny village near Vellore in South India, is an institution whose spiritual and social mission is all set to manifest in the form of a Golden Temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the progenitor of wealth and prosperity.

The humongous project was conceived by 'Sri Sakthi Amma' or 'Amma' in short, the guiding spiritual force behind the Sri Narayani Peedam.

The Mahalakshmi Temple at Sripuram in the village took six years to construct and covers 55,000 sq ft of area in 100 acre of land. As many as 30,000 trees and exclusive landscaping complete the divine touch.

The pathway has been laid in the form of a star. The logic is that such a pattern of lines absorb positive energy from nature and hence ideal for the pathway.

Addressing the press here, Mr P Murali, trustee of Om Sakthi Narayani Siddar Peedam Charitable Trust, said the peedam was set to become one of the major international spiritual centres. A phenomenal amount of community work was underway in Thimalaikodi.

The Narayana Peedam also runs a hospital and a school besides being engaged in community work like feeding the poor, funds for maintenance of temples, marriages, drinking water distribution and afforestation programme.

An audio-visual presentation showed finishing touches being given to the temple whose consecration was set for August 24. Rushes showed the work to be a masterpiece in terms of sculpting and the design.
