DTF welcomes Committee decision to terminate two professors
New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Democratic Teachers' Front (DTF) today welcomed the Delhi University's decision to recommended termination of service of two faculty members found guilty by the Apex Complaints Committee in cases of sexual harassment.
''The DTF views the placing of the inquiry reports on Prof Gurcharan Singh Arshi and Dr Atul Razdan by the Vice Chancellor in the Executive Council as a step forward,'' DTF President Sanjaya Kumar Bohidar said in a statement.
The Forum demanded that Vice Chancellor Deepak Pental hold an emergency meeting of the Executive Council and immediately place all reports, including the case involving Bidyut Chakravarty, for action.
Yesterday, the Executive Council of the Delhi University recommended that the services of Gurcharan Singh Arshi, a professor in the Punjabi Department, and Atul Razdan, a senior lecturer of the Mathematics Department, be terminated.
