Jaipur, Aug 21: A local court here has rejected Orissa DGP B B Mohanty's petition for cancellation of the non-bailable arrest warrant released against him.

Public prosecutor V N Shukla said the Sessions Court dismissed Mohanty's petition on the grounds of his non-cooperation with the city police in the investigation of his son Biti Mohanti case.

Biti Mohanti ws convicted of raping a German scholar student in Alwar in 2006 and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

Biti jumped parole and has not returned to the jail till now.

Father Mohanty is accused of aiding his son to jump parole.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) II Rajendra Bansal hadissued non-bailable arrest warrants against Mohanti senior for helping his son.

The court emphasised on the Supreme Court's orders for not arresting the DGP for six months but during this period Mohanti failed to help the police investigations.

With the cancellation, Mohanti would now have to file a revision application with different grounds in the Sessions Court.
