Bullets, cellphones, cash recovered from Sub Jail

Hubli, August 21 (UNI) The city police have recovered seven bullets, eight mobile phones, pornographic literature and cash from inmates of the sub jail here last night.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the jail and seized the bullets, cellphones and cash of over Rs 50,000 from the inmates, including a habitual offender of Shimoga Manjunath alias Hebbettu Manja, Commissioner of Police N R Nadamani told newspersons here.

Police also recovered a pass book of SBI, Rajaji Nagar branch of Bangalore and some blank cheques of ICICI bank, signed by one Irfan Javed. Most of the recovered articles belonged to the history sheeter, he added.
