Authorities remove huts, tension in AP town

Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 21 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the Suryapet town of this district after civic authorities today removed huts erected by the poor with the support of CPI(M), amidst heavy police security.

With police force present in large numbers, dwellers could not resist. However, tension prevailed in the town as local CPI(M) leaders reached the spot and protested against the removal of the huts.

They were later taken into custody.

Poor people had put up huts in survey no 247 in Suryapet two months ago with the support of Marxists.
