Some crew from burned plane unaccounted for-ministry

TOKYO, Aug 20 (Reuters) Some crew members may have been trapped in a plane that caught fire at an airport on Japan's southern island of Okinawa today, but all the passengers escaped, an official at Japan's transport ministry said.

''There is still a possibility that some crew were left behind and we are checking,'' the ministry official told Reuters.

The Boeing 737 passenger plane belonging to Taiwan's China Airlines Ltd. had flown from Taipei to Naha, Okinawa's capital, with 155 passengers on board, public broadcaster NHK said. An engine caught fire three minutes after the plane landed, NHK said.

The ministry official said the cause of the fire and the number of injured were still unclear.
