23 killed in road accident in Western Nepal

Kathmandu, Aug 20: At least 23 people were killed and more than two dozen injured in a road accident in Western Nepal today.

According to a local television channel, 20 people died on the spot when a bus met with an accident at Deurali VDC in Palpa district, about 300 Km west of the national capital, this afternoon.

Three people died while being taken to hospital.

The bus carrying over 75 passengers, on its way to Gulmi district from Butwal, fell some 300 meters down into a stream from the road, Nepalone television said.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital and rescue teams have been mobilised.
