ALMATY, Aug 18 (Reuters) Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's party, Nur Otan, was forecast to win today's parliamentary election with 77.3 per cent of the vote, according to an exit poll.

The main opposition party, the All-National Social Democratic Party (ANSDP), was predicted to win 6.86 per cent in the poll - below the 7 per cent hurdle needed to enter the lower house of parliament.

The poll also said Ak Zhol, which styles itself as a moderate opposition party but is not critical of Nazarbayev, would win 7.06 per cent in the election, seen as a test of the Central Asian state's democracy.

The exit poll was conducted by ASIP, the Association of Sociologists and Political Analysts, and was announced at a media centre organised by Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry. It was not clear what the margin of error on the poll was.

The ANSDP has expressed doubts about any exit poll's independence and said it did not have funds to arrange its own.

The Central Election Commission said it would announce preliminary results tomorrow.
