Conduct mass marriages at Tirumala hills: BJP, BJYM

Tirupati, Aug 18 (UNI) The BJP and BJYM today urged the TTD to conduct the second phase of Kalyanamastu programme (mass marriages) at Tirumala hills, abode of Lord Venkateswara, instead of performing it at various kalyanamandapams across the state.

Speaking in a joint press conference here, BJP leader Samantha Srinivas and BJYM leader Banuprakash Reddy demanded the TTD board to construct a huge kalyanamadapam at Triumala hills for performing mass marriages.

The free marriages should be conducted year-long as per the muhurtam fixed for the concerned bride and bridegrooms, they added.
