BSF foils infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Aug 19: Security forces foiled an infiltration bid of Pakistan trained militants last evening in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

The troops of 49 Battalion of Border Security Force observed some movement at Solotri Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar from the other side of the border and challenged the militants.

In the ensuing encounter, one jawan, identified as head constable Ramesh Chander, received serious injuries and died later.
