PM's statement ridiculous: Uma

Barwani, MP, Aug 18 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti today described Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement regarding certain rituals being performed for his death was ridiculous.

She said Dr Singh should not continue at such an important post after making such a statement.

Talking to reporters at Sendhwa in this district, Ms Bharti said Britishers would have fled from the country if rituals could bring death. Besides, there would have been no need for war in Kargil.

The sadhvi said astro-science had its own place but law of action could not be changed.

Opposing the Indo-US Nuclear pact, she said all opposition parties should get united over the issue.

Alleging that the Left were adopting double standards over the issue, she said they were merely looking after their self-interest.
